Great product for this new price point. I see a lot of people trying to compare this to some of the newer DJI products but this is not really made to compete with them. This is a great drone for travel and making a couple quick flights to get some great pictures. If you are looking for something to zip around and go crazy flying at high speeds then you will be disappointed. I work all over the world and this thing is super compact, easy to travel with and the fact it's flown from the phone makes it even easier to take off, get a quick pic and some videos and land and continue on. I am also glad they changed the design around a bit. Its a slight pain to get the battery out... I had a few issues with just getting it to work. Sometimes it's the program needing to be shut down and sometimes you have to disconnect from the drone and reconnect to get it to work. But since I have gotten Into a routine of only using fully charged batteries (I suggest getting a second) all has been good. And ALWAYS do a quick Gyro Cal before your flights. This little thing went super squirrely on me on my first flight. I was so excited I just took it out back on my second story balcony (first mistake) and just told it to take off, it went straight up and then it made a B-Line for a tree.... Hit some branches and flipped upside down and slammed itself into the ground and all I could think was there goes a couple hundred bucks . I took it in and used a paint brush to glad the dirt and mud off of it and tried to turn it on and the camera would not show up. I decided to let the battery charge and the next time I went to use it the camera worked and all is normal with it to date.I rated this thing 5 stars because it's shown to be very durable, it's very user friendly and at this price point after a few flights and nice pictures if something were to happen to it I would not be heart broken.

So about 6 weeks ago I decided on this Elfie by JJRC. Mainly because after doing quite a bit of research I learned that JJRC is a serious and well-respected drone manufacturer. They make some incredible (and high-end) drones, but they also make models for beginners like me. But also because this has a very cool HD video camera built in.
What I found out is that even though this Elfie is perfect for someone like me just starting out, it would also satisfy the advance and experience drone operators. I know this for a fact because my friend who has many high-end drones was using this with me and said he loved it. He said it had all the cool features and abilities that expensive drones have.
The main point about this particular drone is that it's the world's smallest drone. It literally fits in my shirt pocket! And it's designed to take selfies... which I guess is why this model is called Elfie .
It's unbelievably super easy to get it set up and get started. First of all, when I opened up the box, everything I needed was there... the Elfie drone, a nice soft velvet storage bag, 4 extra propeller blades, a rechargeable 500mAh rechargeable battery, a micro USB card reader, a USB power charger, and of course a really detailed owner's manual. I also needed to download the app which becomes the controller for the Elfie. The app is available on both Google Play or iTunes.
The way this is controlled I think it's pretty unique. It's not a done the uses RF or anything like that.... it uses WiFi! This Elfie drone actually transmits a WiFi signal, so I simply sign on to that Wi-Fi signal with my phone. Once my phone is signed onto the Elfie's WiFi, it instantly becomes the controller!
Now my phone is connected to the drone directly and I'm able to control it, download pictures, take HD videos, and take selfies of course!
This has a lot of features and technology that is very valuable to a beginner like me. First of all, I can limit the height so it will never go over a certain height. I can have it automatically follow me so it won't fly away. Also, I can limit the power so it operates slower. When I'm operating the Elfie I can actually see the video on my phone in real time. So I can actually see what the drones seeing while looking at my phone. And the HD video this takes is pretty amazing. And it's super simple. It records video and high definition and also takes high quality still images.
I've been using this way more than I thought I would over the last few weeks. And although it's fun to use in the house, I highly recommend not doing that. You need a lot more space to truly control it properly. I also highly recommend practicing with it for a few hours before you try to do any crazy tricks. After a few hours of using it, it becomes a lot easier to control.
I love it! Lot's of fun and I love taking aerial video and photos! So I highly recommend it.

Very nice fordable drone. When it is folded it becomes very small that it can even fit in my pocket. I would have preferred if it came with a remote control but it works ok with the phone app. Over all built quality is decent. It came with extra propellers so now I am not as worried about damaging them since I have alternatives. Front and back lights look very cool. Front lights are actually pretty bright. Th camera quality is very much(better than any other drone I have seen around this price range). It is a great deal for beginners.

Pictures are poor quality. Hold does not work even with the drone trimmed completely out. Drone drifts uncontrollably and breaks extremely easily... I've already had to purchase new arms and blades...
